Our 2025 Basins of Relations Watershed Restoration Training is Underway

Eight Richmond apprentices have begun their journey in the 2025 Basins of Relations Watershed Restoration Training. Through hands-on learning and community engagement, they are building practical skills, deepening their understanding of ecosystems and waterways, and exploring what it means to reconnect with the land.

In the first few weeks, the cohort has:

  • Explored the interdependence between rivers and more-than-human communities
  • Examined the connection between water access and environmental justice
  • Studied California native plants that support healthy creek ecosystems
  • Restored riparian habitat along Wildcat Creek
  • Visited Tennessee Valley to explore other watershed systems
  • Participated in Coastal Cleanup Day, removing over 7.5 cubic yards of trash from Wildcat Creek

Stay tuned for more updates as the training continues.
