North Richmond Farm Community Resiliency Center

Located at 323 Brookside Drive, just steps from Verde Elementary School, Urban Tilth is creating something extraordinary for our community. The North Richmond Farm Community Resiliency Center will serve as both a lifeline during emergencies and a thriving hub for community wellness year-round. We’ve completed the designs and laid the foundation, and are eager to continue the development of this vital community center.

Built for Our Community’s Needs

When Disaster Strikes, We’re Ready

Emergency Shelter & Support

When refinery accidents occur or wildfire smoke reaches dangerous levels, our Community Resiliency Center would transform into a safe haven. We’d be equipped with:

  • Clean Air Sanctuary: Advanced air filtration and HVAC systems create a Breathing Center during air quality emergencies
  • Emergency Housing: Comfortable cots and sleeping areas for community members who need shelter
  • Essential Services: First aid equipment, portable showers, and additional restroom facilities
  • Off-Grid Reliability: Solar panels with battery backup keep power, refrigeration, and communications running for up to three days

We understand the unique challenges North Richmond faces. From refinery emissions to seasonal wildfires, our center is designed to protect the health and safety of our neighbors when they need it most.

Supporting Our Immigrant Community

Recognizing that many North Richmond residents face barriers to quality work, housing, healthcare, and healthy food, our center will provide specialized support and bridge the gap for those who live far from other community resources.

The North Richmond Farm Community Resiliency Center represents more than just a building—it’s a commitment to our community’s strength, health, and future. Whether we’re weathering a crisis or celebrating our everyday victories, this space will be where North Richmond comes together.
