For the Community, By the Community: Green Infrastructure Series

The Green Infrastructure Series, co-hosted by the Watershed Restoration Team and the San Francisco Estuary Institute, brought Richmond neighbors together to share lived experiences, local knowledge, and solutions for managing stormwater and protecting the environment.

Across five workshops, community members learned about green infrastructure practices such as bioswales, rain gardens, and permeable surfaces, while also contributing their own experiences with flooding and other environmental challenges. Their input helped identify what is working, what is not, and what is needed to support future green stormwater infrastructure projects in the Iron Triangle.

In addition, the series included a community cleanup along Wildcat Creek, followed by a softball game coached by Richmond Little League.
