Recent Efforts in Watershed and Ecosystem Restoration

As part of their ongoing commitment to the health of local ecosystems, the team has been working hard to restore and protect watersheds, improve habitats, and promote sustainable practices in the community. Here’s a look at some of the recent efforts they’ve made in supporting the environment:

  • Middle Creek, Albany: Removed invasive Banana Passionflower vines to protect native tree canopies.
  • Rheem Creek: Willows were planted to stabilize the banks and prevent erosion.
  • North Richmond Farm: On MLK Day, volunteers planted 335 native plants—big love to all who showed up!
  • Pepperwood Preserve: The crew attended a pile burn workshop to learn the benefits of intentional use of fire.
  • Water Conservation: A water-saving system was installed with native plants from their nursery to create a drought-friendly home.
