North Richmond Farm is starting the new year with fresh energy and exciting developments. Here’s a quick update on the recent activities and progress.
- The Tree Grafting Workshop was a standout event, led by Creighton Hofeditz from Denver Urban Gardens. Attendees learned the ins and outs of tree grafting, gaining valuable insights into the process and the biology that makes it possible.
- The farm also hosted a Tree Pruning Workshop with Bruno O. Luconi and Thomas, where attendees honed their skills in pruning techniques. The goal was to ensure the growth of strong, healthy trees that will continue to provide nourishing produce for the community.
- For MLK Day of Service, volunteers came together to plant a variety of native plants at the farm. It was a day filled with community service, collective effort, and a shared commitment to growth and renewal, honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- The farm also celebrated its first harvest of the year, with fresh, local produce available through the CSA and Farm Stand.
As North Richmond Farm continues to expand and develop new crop rows, there are plenty of opportunities for community involvement. Anyone interested in supporting the farm’s mission to grow healthy, pesticide-free food is encouraged to sign up for the upcoming volunteer day.
