Introducing the Seed Saving Project

Saving seeds has been an ongoing practice in Urban Tilth. We’re lucky to have learned from our team and community elders.

We are also super lucky to have a Richmond Seed Library by @richmondgrows who has supported us by teaching us many techniques!

With this project, our goals are to save & distribute seeds from our garden sites.

We will build seed libraries at the farm, the community gardens, school sites & a mobile library for our weekly farm stands. That way our community has more access to locally saved seeds & hopefully encourages them to build gardens in our little town by the bay.

We’re excited to start this new project and have our team deepen their relationship with seeds so we can teach and provide Richmond Saved Seeds to our community!

Keep an eye out for future updates.

A big shoutout to our funders The Ceres Trust & 11th Hour! We’re so excited & grateful, thank you.
