This hands-on gathering took place as part of Urban Tilth’s 4th Saturday Volunteer Day series, where community members come together not only to support the farm but also to learn new skills through training workshops. At North Richmond Farm, participants rolled up their sleeves to help tend the land, directly contributing to the growth of fresh, healthy food that will be shared with the community. After working together in the fields, the group gathered for a practical training on soil health, learning how to make their own fish fertilizer and exploring other simple, effective ways to build nutrient-rich soil. Filled with shared learning, conversation, and collaboration, the day blended meaningful volunteer work with hands-on education, leaving attendees feeling empowered, more connected to the land, and strengthened by the experience of growing food together.
