This month, the team at the Verde Partnership Garden has been busy working with students to transplant more greens. This week, the students had the chance to plant cabbage and several types of lettuce.
Before the break, they also hosted their first harvesting event at the garden. Many visitors took home fresh purple and green collards, yarrow, cilantro, and a bunch of other herbs.
Looking ahead, the team is excited to plan more Open Garden: Community Harvest Days at Verde. They shared that they can’t wait to meet more families and community members and keep sharing the fun of gardening and fresh produce with the Richmond community.
