What a day! Urban Tilth’s Black Caucus teamed up with The Black Neighborhood and Rich City Rides to celebrate Black August at the North Richmond Farm, and it was nothing short of magical.
The farm was alive with music, movement, and delicious food. MC Kawah kept the energy flowing, DJ Daryl had everyone dancing, and our taste buds were delighted by G’Nana Pudding, Snappers, and 2Much Sauce. Donté Clark’s spoken word left us inspired, and Ayikwei got us moving with drums, song, and celebration.
People laughed and learned in every corner of the farm. Line dancing with Sonjay, checking in on health with the on-site nurses, blending smoothies on the bike, sharing stories at the open mic, shopping with local vendors, and connecting with community resources.
From digging in the soil with King, playing games at TJ’s station, to visiting the petting zoo, there was joy and connection everywhere. It was a beautiful reminder of what happens when our community comes together. We celebrate, we nourish, and we grow together.
