Stormwater Protections in Place

As October ushers in the rainy season, the North Richmond Farm is taking important steps to protect our local waterways during construction. This month, crews completed the installation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPP) measures across the site, which is an essential part of responsible site management.

Key safeguards now in place include rock dissipators, silt fencing, and straw wattles. These features help prevent sediment from washing into nearby storm drains during rain events, since those drains ultimately flow into San Pablo Creek, these protections help keep the creek healthy and free of construction-related pollution.

With SWPP systems installed and ready, the Farm is well-prepared for the wet months ahead while continuing progress on construction.
