Exciting Preparations Underway at the North Richmond Farm

This month, the North Richmond Farm team has seen significant progress and activity as preparations continue for the upcoming season.

Volunteer Day Recap

The farm hosted its very first volunteer day of the year, and the team is incredibly grateful for all the support. Volunteers came out to lend a hand with much-needed tasks like weeding and sheet-mulching, ensuring the farm is ready for the growing season. Their hard work and dedication have made a huge impact, and the farm team couldn’t be more thankful.

In addition to the volunteer day, the farm had the pleasure of welcoming students from Richmond College Prep (RCP) and youth from the RYSE Center for a special visit. It was a joy to have them on the farm, engaging with the land and learning about sustainable farming practices. These visits offer a valuable opportunity to connect young people with the food system, and the team is excited to host more groups like these in the future.

With spring just around the corner, early spring cleaning has been in full swing. The farm team organized and prepped the shed, making sure everything is in place for a successful year ahead. The farm is now buzzing with positive energy as it gets ready for the bloom of spring.

Get Involved!

Lastly, the team is excited to invite everyone to the upcoming Spring Fling Volunteer Event next month. It will be a fun day of preparing the farm for the season while creating new memories with others in the community. Whether someone is a seasoned volunteer or new to the farm, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved!
