This program hosts 4-8 apprentices every year and will spend 6 weeks (100 hrs) learning about fundamental skills on how to properly maintain and harvest from fruit trees in urban areas. This program will provide knowledge on how to start and care for trees in the Richmond area. Lessons will be hands on that includes planting trees, harvesting, amending nutrients, proper pruning techniques and essential customer service skills.
We will also be covering topics like environmental justice, food justice, storytelling, and food sovereignty while working alongside our staff to steward the land and cultivate resources for our community!
