Happy week 4 to the Ujima cohort apprentices! This week we really got to be outside and connected to the land. We’re so thankful to have harvested at the Urban Tilth North Richmond Farm with the other SAP apprentices and the NRF crew! Our apprentices put in the work and helped in the Crescent Park garden by weeding, mulching, and replanting the beds. They learned more about the three sisters’ gardening and companion planting in raised beds. Thank you to Adam for giving a very much-needed presentation on water conservation and teaching the apprentices about irrigation as well as how to set up an irrigation system. The youth are excited to learn more about farming, land, and nature!
