The team at the farm stand has been hard at work, continuing their routine of providing fresh, delicious vegetables to the community. Recently, they’ve expanded their role to embrace farming duties, including seeding, weeding, mulching, and tending to vegetable beds.
Among these tasks, the team weeded a blackberry patch and a neighbor’s garden bed, preparing them for the crops that have been started in the greenhouse. These crops include:
- Cilantro: Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, cilantro can help detoxify the body and promote digestive health.
- Lettuce: Low in calories but high in fiber, lettuce is great for hydration, and digestion.
- Marigolds: While not normally consumed, marigolds are known for their medicinal properties, helping with inflammation and promoting skin health when used topically.
- Beans: Packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients, beans are excellent for heart health and regulating blood sugar levels.
Excitement is building as the team eagerly anticipates the harvest and looks forward to sharing their progress with the community. Stay tuned for more updates!
Keep in mind to not miss our farm stands each week.
