Scorpio Season Success – Watershed Crew Wrap-Up

As Scorpio season swept through, it brought more than just autumnal vibes, it blessed the Watershed Crew with incredible experiences and hardworking days in nature. From fascinating wildlife sightings to impactful restoration projects, the past weeks have been a rewarding adventure.

Nature’s Companions

This season, the crew had some wild company while working outdoors! Salamanders, scorpions, spiders, and even a majestic hawk crossed our paths, reminding us of the delicate ecosystems we’re striving to protect. These encounters were more than just exciting. They underscored our work’s importance in preserving these creatures’ habitats.

Projects That Made an Impact

We’ve been busy, tackling multiple projects that brought us closer to our goal of thriving, healthy watersheds:

  • Restoring Rheem Creek
We planted native vegetation along Rheem Creek, enhancing the riparian habitat and promoting biodiversity.
  • Mulching at Pt. Pinole
Before the rains swept in, we planted and mulched at Pt. Pinole, preparing the area for a lush, rejuvenated landscape.
  • Building at Albany Hill
Using repurposed eucalyptus trees, the crew built a sturdy retaining wall at Albany Hill.
  • Greening Codornices Creek
Planting at Codornices Creek was another highlight, contributing to the health of this cherished local waterway.

Looking Ahead

As the season changes and the rains nourish the earth, our recent efforts will take root, quite literally. Scorpio season may have ended, but the momentum it brought will carry us into the next chapter of watershed restoration.

To all our partners, volunteers, and supporters, thank you for making this work possible. Together, we’re not only building resilient landscapes but also fostering a deeper connection with the natural world around us.
