This year, thanks to a grant from the California Strategic Growth Council and California Department of Conservation, we have founded a new area of work centered around Water Conservation- which will provide over 100 laundry-to-landscape greywater recycling systems to Richmond homeowners free of charge, and will provide hands-on skills in system installation for apprentices in our Basins of Relations program.
This week we installed our first pilot project, led by Cyrus and our Basins of Relations apprentices. Recycling greywater for landscape use is a great way to ease the impacts of drought, create natural beauty and grow more food in our communities, and restore balance to our heavily modified watersheds.
