Observing Metamorphosis

Verde Partnership Garden update we’ve had challenging weeks (fewer and fewer students), but we continue with garden education ? Classes continue to observe the metamorphosis of monarch butterflies soon we will do a release with 6th grade. We have also been learning about the importance of mulching to help our soil temperature and biodiversity stay balanced (pictured our garlic being mulched with a blanket of a straw) ? younger grades are conducting a decomposition experiment where we observe an apple, a piece of paper, a flower and plastic in a soil-filled with microorganisms. We are guessing how much time each will take to break down. What do you think will decompose first?
