Nurturing Minds and Greens at Our Schoolyard Haven

Lots of fun and leafy greens at the garden.

Students have been spending time planting fall crops: rainbow chard, dinosaur kale, and cauliflower, among others. They have also been busy admiring any beautiful colors found, especially in flowers.

We are so proud of our elementary Youth who have recently completed their unit on seeds! They had the opportunity to successfully seed save cilantro and create their own little seed packets which they can now share with their local community!

4th-8th students have been studying our soil and using their observations to tend to our plant family. Their understanding has definitely allowed them to take the initiative in harvesting, hydrating plants, and buffering their transplanting skills.

We are almost halfway through the school year and it’s amazing to see their minds grow alongside our garden
