Encouraging The Imagination Mural Project

Murals have always been powerful tools to educate and inspire community members in our society. The “Encouraging the Imagination” Mural Project will inspire local residents, especially our kids, to expand our imaginations with the help of the power of nature and community.
Urban Tilth invites Richmond Greenway Residents to help design this NEW community mural this March with the goal of installing it for Earth Day 2022!
The “Encouraging the Imagination” Mural Project is a project of Urban Tilth in partnership with the Richmond Arts & Culture, and the City of Richmond Parks and Landscaping Division. We need your input to create a new mural located in the Unity Park Ohio Ave & S 16th street Richmond, CA 94804.
Be ready to share your Mural input, ideas and thoughts in our 4 community sessions designs:
Session #1: Choose the Mural Theme – Meet the artist, see the space where the Mural will be installed, learn why “Encouraging the Imagination Mural” Project is so important and help choose the major theme of the mural.
Date: Saturday, March 5th
Where: Unity Park Shade Structure @ 16th Street and the Richmond Greenway
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Session #2: Choose the Mural Imagery – Work with the artist to help create a list of images that are important to you and the community that should be included in the mural.
Date: Saturday, March 19th
Where: Unity Park Shade Structure @ 16th Street and the Richmond Greenway
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Session #3: Present a 3 possible designs – Review, give feedback and vote on your favorite of 3 possible mural designs
Date: Saturday, March 26th, 2022
Where: Unity Park Shade Structure @ 16th Street and the Richmond Greenway
Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Session #4: Feedback on final design – Meet with the artist to review the final design and give any final feedback before the painting begins!
