This year’s Watershed Youth Program has officially made it to week 5!
Since last week, the youth have taken a visit to our native plant nursery where they learned how to transplant, mix soil, sow seeds, and work with various native California plants. They also got to meet the frogs that call the greenhouse home!
On Monday, the youth harvested flowers and participated in a water blessing with Tamu at San Pablo Creek where they were taught about water consciousness, the power of water, the water cycle, how important it is, and how we are connected to it. Tuesday, we took a trip to Albany Hill where they were given a walkthrough of the land, were introduced to more native plants, participated in seed saving, removed weeds, and pruned some Toyon branches! Next week we are going camping!
