Greenway Volunteer Appreciation

As spring settles in with sunshine, soft soil, and the sweet fragrance of blossoms, the Richmond Greenway is bursting with new life and renewed energy. Visitors may have noticed fresh sights across the Greenway Gardens and Unity Park, from vibrant plantings to community-led improvements.

A heartfelt shoutout goes to the many volunteer groups who have already made a huge impact this month. With garden work in full swing everything from weeding and watering to planting and seed-saving these dedicated volunteers have stepped up just as the rain has stepped back. Their hard work is essential to maintaining the health and beauty of Richmond’s greenspaces, and the team behind the Greenway couldn’t be more grateful.

While it’s hard to capture the full extent of their contributions, this season’s efforts showcase a fraction of the incredible time and energy volunteers have poured into the community.

Looking to give back? Join the upcoming Earth Day Celebration on April 19th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unity Park. It’s a great opportunity to connect with nature, meet fellow community members, and contribute to a greener Richmond.
